6 area bands compete today to represent the Triangle at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis. The competition is from 2-8 pm at Durham’s Blue Note Grill at 709 Washington Street, and is followed by an all-star jam.

Competition categories include solo, duo and bands playing any and all kinds of blues. More than half of any performing group must be legal residents of North Carolina and members of the Triangle Blues Society.
