The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival has released the day-by-day list of performers for this year’s event. Headliners include Stevie Wonder, Pearl Jam, Neil Young, Steely Dan, Beck and Van Morrison. Among the other big names are Bonnie Raitt, Taj Mahal, Elvis Costello, Gary Clark, Jr., Boz Scaggs, Buddy Guy, Tedeschi Trucks Band and Mavis Staples. Jazz Fest mainstays returning in 2016 include Dr. John, The Meters, Anders Osborne, Irma Thomas and Tab Benoit. For real jazz fans, the Herbie Hancock & Wayne Shorter Duo, Terence Blanchard, Ellis Marsalis and Jon Batiste are a sampling of this year’s performers. Also featured are tributes to Allen Toussaint and B.B. King, who passed away in 2015, and to Jelly Roll Morton.

Opening weekend for Jazz Fest at the New Orleans Fair Grounds is April 22-24, with the traditionally-longer second weekend running from April 28 to May 1.
