The Bull Durham Blues Festival celebrates its 28th year this weekend, September 11 and 12. The Festival, which has varied its format in recent years, returns to 2011’s successful arrangement, with Friday night’s concert in the intimate St. Joseph’s Performance Hall at Hayti Heritage Center and a free outdoor show Saturday in Durham Central Park.
Friday’s jazz/R&B oriented performers include Jean Carne, Norman Connors and Kim Waters. Tickets are still available for the 8pm show. Saturday’s lineup features Grady Champion, Jason Damico and Pat “Mother Blues” Cohen, with Lawyers, Guns & Money and Ebb & Flow filling out the bill. Saturday festivities kick off at 5pm.
