The Durham Arts Council’s annual CenterFest Arts Festival happens this Saturday and Sunday, September 21st and 22nd. After returning to its downtown location in 2012 (hooray for that decision), CenterFest 2013 will again take place in downtown Durham’s City Center on Main and Chapel Hill Streets in the Five Points and CCB Plaza areas. Featuring visual art, great food and diverse entertainment, the festival runs Saturday 10 am – 6 pm and Sunday 11 am – 5 pm. As a bonus this year, for the first time, music will continue until 9:00 pm Saturday at the Herald-Sun Stage and Food & Beer Garden.
In its 39th year, CenterFest is the longest-running outdoor juried arts festival in North Carolina, showcasing 140 fine artists and craftsmen from across the country. Continuous music & entertainment is performed on 6 stages from 72 groups.
Admission at the gate is a suggested $5 donation, which supports the festival and the arts programs & services of Durham Arts Council. Parking is available in several large public lots surrounding the event.
