The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival has released the blockbuster day-by-day list of performers for this year’s 50th annual event. Headliners include The Rolling Stones, Santana, Van Morrison, Dave Matthews Band, Katy Perry, Earth, Wind & Fire, and Jimmy Buffett. Among the other big names are Bonnie Raitt, Taj Mahal, Jimmy Cliff, Boz Scaggs, Trombone Shorty, Al Green, Mavis Staples, John Fogerty, Steve Earle, Gary Clark Jr., Los Lobos, Robert Cray, Ziggy Marley, Little Feat, and Jerry Lee Lewis. Jazz Fest mainstays returning in 2019 include Sonny Landreth, Tab Benoit, Marcia Ball, the Nevilles, the Marsalis family, Terence Blanchard, Anders Osborne, The Radiators, the subdudes, and Irma Thomas.
Also featured are tributes to Louis Armstrong, Aretha Franklin, Pete Fountain & Al Hirt, Clifton Chenier & Buckwheat Zydeco, Fats Domino, Allen Toussaint, Mahalia Jackson, Louis Prima, and others.
The traditionally-shorter first weekend is extended to 4 days this year, April 25-28, with the second weekend at New Orleans Fair Grounds running from May 2-5.
